Voices of Beauty
Voices of Beauty is a collaborative project between spoken word artists and dancers and choreographers from Part of the Oath. Performances explore relevant and personal issues affecting our youth. Through performance art, issues such as obesity, eating disorders, diversity, gender identity and pressures of media are explored. Voices was initially created for Rhode Island Women's Health Council conference in 2014 with the assistance of a Rhode Island State Council on the Arts grant. The program is developing and gaining momentum as we present this at high schools and middle schools in Rhode Island and Southern Massachusetts.
Our mission is to broaden communication, eliminate shame and isolation and to educate and empower our youth.
